Agate Gemstone Pit

Visit one of the best agate gemstone collection sites in Manitoba at The Souris Agate Pits. Quality gemstones were known to be plentiful in the Souris gravel pit for many years before it became obvious they were of much broader interest to more than a dedicated few local residents. Today the agate pit attracts visitors from around the world. Located just 3/4 mile southeast of town.  Twelve acres in size, the pits were worked for gravel as early as 1930.
