The R.M. of Glenwood has a population of 640 (2006 Census) and covers an area of 216 sq. miles, with the Town of Souris located in the centre of the municipality. The unique location of Souris allows the two entities to work collaboratively to provide the best possible services for the community members within the town and municipal boundaries.

The Glenwood area is a vibrant agricultural location with oil seeds, cereal crops, and livestock being the main commodities produced in the RM. A feed mill, grain handling terminal and chemical supply business provide options and opportunity to anyone interested in agriculture. There is also the local Souris-Glenwood Airport, which is located just 5 minutes from Souris that further enhances business opportunities within the community.
