Active Living For Seniors

The energy and enthusiasm of our seniors is instrumental to building a sense of community as well as a focus on our heritage.  Through volunteering efforts and engagement in projects and committees their contributions have created a legacy which is an inspiration to us all.  To support our active seniors, there are a number of programs and services dedicated to this group.

 

The Souris Fellowship Club

Open to any resident over the age of 25, but focusing on senior’s activities, the club provides opportunities for older adults to stay active, meet new friends, and to stay connected to the community.  The club offers weekly bridge, shuffleboard and 500 in addition to other events and activities throughout the year.  The Club is housed in the Souris Drop In Centre annual memberships to the club are available.

 

Seniors Organized Services

Supporting seniors to enjoy their independence, the Souris S.O.S. provides support and assistance to aid people to live in their own homes, with dignity. They strive to provide services beyond the scope of home care including transportation to appointments, day trips and entertainment, exercises and more.  

 

Boards and Committees

Our community is home to a plethora of community projects and activities.  Local committees including heritage, horticulture, health auxiliary, charitable giving, the Park Board and more are always looking for persons with diverse personal and professional backgrounds and experience to bring their enthusiasm to the table on a wide array of community projects and interests.  Maybe we have one that’s right up your alley.
