Scarecrow Days 2018 “Salute to Heroes”

Be sure to check out the full schedule below, and our calendar on this website for further information. The theme this year is “Salute to Heroes”, recognizing the emergency support services like fire fighters, EMS, police, and many more that are there for us when we need them the most! 

Scarecrow Days 2018 Schedule

All weekend long! Friday, Saturday & Sunday

7:30am – 5:00pm             J & S Meats Event Food Trailer located outside Curling Club

8:00am – 4:00pm             COKG Flyball Agility Dog Show @ Curling Club (Saturday & Sunday)

9:00am – 9:00pm             SW AAA Bantam Cougars Preseason Tournament

1:00 – 4:00pm                    Hillcrest Museum open (Saturday & Sunday)

7:30pm                                 Movie “Christopher Robin” at the Avalon Theatre, free popcorn for kids!

 

Friday, Sept. 21/18

11:00am – 1:30 pm         BBQ Lunch @ 6 Crescent Ave East, $5 (sponsored by Western Financial, proceeds to Souris-Glenwood Fire Department and their new Rescue Unit)

11:30am – 1:30pm           Legion Week Lunch

6:00pm                             Souris Legion Meat Draw

7:00pm                            Free Community Scarecrow Building (register ahead of time at LT’s Corner Store)

 

Saturday, Sept. 22/18

9:00am – 1:00pm             Town Wide Yard Sales

9:30 – 11:00am                  Souris Farmers Market – last one of the season!!! Located in the parking lot behind Whitfield Drugs

10:00am – 5:00pm           Meet the artist, potter Susan Pharaoh; Book signing, the “Sapling”, author Jessica Klassen and Illustrator Emily McDonald; Artist Erna Honeyman will be instructing a Paverpol class in studio; Lavender Blue Henna by Stephanie Ritchot will be outside creating for anyone who wishes to have one done (weather permitting), if not she will be inside. Food and drink will be provided

11:00am – 4:00pm           Sadler’s Creekside Greenhouse Fall Festival variety of activities. 11-12 Kids Craft Table $10.00, 1-2 Great Gardener’s Contest, 2-3 Marshmallow Roast & Face Painting, 1-4 Popcorn & Apple Cider available on the patio, ALL DAY Potting station – bring plants you want to take indoors over winter (soil charged accordingly). 9:00pm                                 Barn Dance at the Whistling Donkey, featuring “Bethel Road”

7:30 – 11:00am                  Pancake Breakfast fundraiser @ the Golf Course Clubhouse

8:00am-4:00pm                 Youth Rugby & Jamboree @ Souris School

10:00am – 3:00pm           Scarecrow Days 4th Annual Flea Market @ Souris-Glenwood Community Hall

12:00 – 3:00 pm                Wagon Rides provided by Joe Goodwill, sponsored by Meighan Haddad LLP. Pick up/drop off at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church parking lot

12:00 – 4:30pm                 Show and Shine Car Show on Crescent Ave., brought to you by the Souris Chamber of Commerce, 50/50 Draw, BBQ lunch by Royal Canadian Legion
